Today Meg took me on a 10 Mile run.
It is actually 10.1 miles, to be precise. We run from N. Howell to Selby on Summit. When we get to the Cathedral, we take John Ireland Blvd. to Martin Luther King. When we get to the Capitol, we head south on MLK to Robert. We then take Robert to Kellogg, Kellogg to West 7th, West 7th to Grand, West on Grand to Fairview, back up to Summit, then back to Howell.
From the Capital to Grand, the run is pretty flat, and I got super cocky. Then we got to Grand Avenue. Now we could have taken Ramsey Hill back up to Summit, but that would have been crazy. So we took the gradual incline of Grand Avenue. After you have been running 5.5 miles, that stretch feels like you are running backwards on an escalator to nowhere.
The last 3 miles were harder than I thought that they would be. I got cocky again from Dale to Lexington. Then, Grand takes a slight incline that I had never noticed before. When we got back to Hamline, I was begging, pleading, praying to whatever deity controls the traffic signals in St. Paul that we would hit a red light. We did not.
Anyway, according to Gmap pedometer I burned 1680 calories on this run, so, LASAGNA. Just kidding.
