So it is Sunday, and it has been a while since I have blogged and I am waiting for Sumaya and Zainab to come over so we can make some spicy meatballs.
When I preheated the oven, a fiew minutes ago, I discovered that some fat had spilled onto the bottom of the oven from the Buffalo Burgers I made on Wendnesday night, so the house is a lot smokey right now. Fortunately the weather is nice so I can open up some doors to let the place air out a bit.
I have been training to run Grandma's Marathon. This is my first marathon, so I am pretty excited. I am following a training program which I found in a book that made a lot of sense to me. I also consult my nephew Jim who is going to run the marathon with me. My goal is to finish. My other goal is to finish in under 5 hours.
Today I went for an 8 mile run that was really fun. I ran down Cleavland from Iglehart to Dayton, over to East River Road, and ran on East River Road all the way to University Avenue. I then ran back on Pleasant to E. River Road and then back to Dayton, to Iglehart. I finished in 1:33 minutes which is about an 11:30 minute mile pace. That is about a minute off my normal pace, which is fine for the long sunday run, which is supposed to work on endurance.
It is really smokey in here.
Yesterday we got the nursery ready for the boy. My Dad came over and we were going to wire a light fixture in the center of the room. However, when we started working with the wires, my Dad wasn't familiar with the vintage of wiring in the room. So we are going to hire an electrician to wire the room for us.
In the meantime, my Dad and I set up the glider, the crib and the changing table. We are still waiting for the dresser. Once we have that, I think we are set. The next 18 years are going to be a piece of cake.
Where is everybody? There is totally nobody good online.
